I can be a little bull headed and stubborn. I love Chocolate, coffee and my iphone. Movies and TV are a definite favorite, of course while I am editing pictures! I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, and that is most likely what I will show up to shoot in...that is unless it's your wedding ;)

I love shooting families and seeing that special bond come alive, it's amazing to watch how everyone interacts with each other and to capture that forever.

Finding out what makes my clients tick is what makes me happiest, I want to know how you met your spouse, how many kids you have, what you do for work....well the questions are endless and really that's what makes the sessions so much fun! We get to chat and hang out. Have some great laughs and while all that is happening, the pictures that are taken, well you and your family shines because you are truly having an experience and after all, that's what it's all about!

On Leave ~ Olds, AB Photographer

This is a blog post that I really should have written a while ago, but I don’t want to say it out loud!  Between being pregnant and having had the surgery done on my leg last year I am sorry to say that I am going to be going on Maternity Leave early, as in right now.  I have done a few sessions this month and after each one I have paid for it dearly.  My leg is just not in good enough shape to be pregnant and doing photo sessions.  Right now I am looking at being on leave for at least a year, between a new baby, my almost 5 year old and my husband working away from home more often than he is home I just can’t dedicate the time that I want and need to to a business, now that doesn’t mean that you can’t shoot me an email to ask if I’d be up for doing a session here and there in the fall:)  I don’t want to completely quit!  I just won’t be advertising or promoting my business at all.

I will be updating my blog with things that are going on in our life, and of course new baby pictures in September!  So, make sure to keep checking in on the blog and feel free to send me an email even to say hello, I’d love to hear from you anytime:)

Here’s a couple of pictures of Carter and our pets, this is the day the cat left for a new home.  I think I was very allergic and Carter as well.  Since the cat has been gone we haven’t been as sniffly, sneezy or have such horrible running noses.

Gorgeous April Wedding ~ Olds, AB Photographer

I love this couple, they are so sweet together, and make such a great family.  I think they were meant to be together!  The wedding has been in the works for a while, and I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to shooting this day for Erin and Bruce.  Then, it was snowy and cold out which was workable, but some sunshiney weather would have been nice;)and to top it off I was sick and lost my voice. Well, Rhonda from Sweet and Sassy Photography, who I shoot weddings with, totally stepped up and saved the day.  The setting was beautiful and cozy, taking place at The Blooming Fields which provided the perfect setting for this intimate wedding.

The kids were all ecstatic about being in the wedding and in fact the little flower girl finally asked at one point “Can we just have the wedding….NOW?!?!” she just couldn’t wait any longer, and I have a feeling that the bride and groom felt exactly the same way.  I know Erin has been patiently waiting for the sneak peek of her special day, so lets get some of those pictures on the way!

Bruce seeing his beautiful bride for the first time on their wedding day, love the look on his face!

I’ve Been Missing You ~ Olds, AB Photographer

I fully realize that it has been ages and ages since I have done a blog post, totally not like me!  I have been keeping busy with my son and my husband is (finally) back to work full time.  The weather here in Alberta has been horrible, which means no outdoor photo sessions for me:(  But on the flip side it means a ton of time to spend with Carter hanging out and playing, which really has been a ton of fun.  But I know it’s time to get back to the grind!!  Starting this Saturday in fact!  I have a wedding booked for Saturday and if today is any indication it is going to be snowy/rainy and muddy.  I am hoping for some sunshine, we will see how that works out!

I have some fantastic news too!  We are expecting a baby!!  The baby is due in September, which means unfortunately that I won’t be doing much of anything photography wise for fall pictures, so if you are wanting family pictures, or just pictures of the kids book before September.  Also, I will only be booking a maximum of 4 clients per month up until September.

Also, my last post was about The Tiny Light Foundation, well I have been sent my first Tiny Light.  We are in the process of booking the session, but I can’t wait to see this little guy!

Tiny Light Foundation ~ Olds, AB Photographer

I am so happy and excited to be a part of this great organization, The Tiny Light Foundation.

I am attaching The Tiny Light Foundation’s mission:

The Tiny Light Foundation is a non profit organization that provides professional photography for children and families that have been faced with a life altering diagnoses. We provide families with the lasting memories through the amazing art of photography. With the help of many photographers throughout Canada we are able to provide families with photos they can share and help carry the many memories.

Our mission is to provide and capture memories that will help provide a family with one less thing to worry about. In the midst of dealing with doctors appointments, specialist appointments or just the daily life of medicines, rushing here to there for weights, check ups, and the many many other things we deal with in everyday life. A lot of the time photographs seem to take a back burner and not only with time, but with funds. When we look back we want to remember and even though you may not forget what you and your child has gone through we always want more we need the memories to last “Forever”.

We at The Tiny Light Foundation feel that helping families create these memories is very important. Each of us has somehow been touched by a family member or friend who has had to endure a life altering experience and looking back we know the importance of these special moments. So whether you have a child or know a child who would benefit from a professional photo session. Please know we are here to help. Each session is specially designed and catered to your child and your family. Each session is free of charge and you are provided with a high resolution disk of edited photos ready for printing. Our photographers are willing to travel to your home, hospital, school. We want to capture a moment in the day in the life of you and your child.

Each child is different and special in their own way. When dealing with a serious illness or life altering disability we know that sometimes it takes much more patience and time then a normal in house studio can provide. Each Photographer is hand picked and selected for that special reason alone.

I can’t wait for my first family to photograph, I know there are going to be a lot of very special stories and especially very special kids:)
