Luck.

I read a blog tonight that made me realize just how lucky I am.  I have an amazing life, husband son, parents and friends.

Sometimes in the rush of the day when my son is driving me crazy with his “threeness” life can get a little insane.  He is just like me very strong willed, and when he says “no, you do it” I get a little bull headed and say “no, you can do it” to the point that neither one of us is going to give in.  EVER.  There are many times in the run of a day or a week when I have heard the following statements, with a little whine

“I don’t want to”

“You do it”

“I WANT you to do it”

“NO”

“Why?”

“I want it, now”

these statements can make me insane in an already insane kind of day, but then he’ll pull out all the stops and say

“I love you from here to here and EVERYWHERE”

“I love you mom”

“Play with me, please mom”

“Can we sit in the rocker and cuddle?”

these things can make even the craziest of days seem like the craziness didn’t happen, and I love these moments.  When he’s snuggly and wants to cuddle or when he wakes up in the morning and pulls open the blinds and exclaims in absolute wonder “Look mom, it’s not dark out anymore!!”  I know I need to remember more of these moments, and less of his “threeness”.  Time will pass, and his crying and whining will be forgotten, but I don’t ever, EVER, want to forget the snuggly little boy that I adore.

So, why this post, why tonight?  Well, I have decided after reading the blog that I read tonight that I need to make sure to remember all of the wonder’s of  my life.  I have seen some of my friends with blogs have a “5 Things I’m Thankful For” list at the end of each post, and I think this is a great way to start realizing exactly what I am thankful for.  Without further ado,

5 Things I’m Thankful For

1. Seeing his smile every morning, and the cuddle he sneaks in before we get up for the day.

2. Being able to do a little more with my son every day, since my leg is healing so well and I am starting to walk with one crutch.

3. Taking my son to the movies, and just hanging out.

4. Hearing “I love you from here to here and EVERYWHERE” everyday.

5. Playing lego and seeing how excited he gets when we make cool stuff!
